"Final Voyage" - length: 6min 39sec file size: 64.8MB MPEG

Footage from: Final Fantasy VII, VIII, IX and Chrono Cross
Music: Ian van Dahl - Castles In The Sky (Extended Version)
Completed: August 2001

Comments: I guess this should really be considered a Game Music Video (GMV) but no one cares. =) Anyways, this is the FIRST AMV I ever made digitally. I had to learn a lot of the technical aspects of making a video before I even attempted to work on this.

People enjoyed the actual video itelf which I'm really proud about that. There are no themes to the video unless you think there's one. It was mainly an experimental project to see how well I can match the flow of music to the images.

"Come Back Zidane" - length 4min 48sec file size: 46.9MB MPEG

Footage from: Final Fantasy IX
Music: m-flo - Come Back To Me
Completed: August 2001

Comments: I really love this song so I had to do a video for it. I'm really proud of how it came out. I did a a lot of editing for certain scenes to take out certain people in order to keep the focus on the subject. People who've never played the game won't notice where the edits are. But if you played the game then you'll see a lot of scenes I took out. It was really interesting to see how the scenes played out without certain parts of those scenes. I tried to keep the pacing of the video constant and the flow fluid. You can say this was a retelling of the romance between Zidane and Garnet. ^^

If you feel all warm and fuzzy inside after you watched it then I've succeeded. =)

"Pissed Off" - length 2min 46sec file size: 27.1MB MPEG

Footage from: Drunken Master 2
Music: Limp Bizkit - Break Stuff
Completed: August 2001

Comments: I liked this track from Limp Bizkit and I wanted to try to make a music video out of a Jackie Chan film so this was what I came up with. I was going to use Police Story 2 for the footage but problems with my comp prevented me from using it. It's a little rough since my comp couldn't seem to process the videos fast enough but it came out pretty good. This is my first version of many Jackie Chan music videos to come.

For fans of Limp Bizkit and Jackie Chan, they'll get a chuckle out of this short little video. =)

"Rage" - length 3min 52sec file size: 37.7MB MPEG

Footage from: Police Story
Music: Rob Zombie - Superbeast (Girl on a Motorcycle Mix)
Completed: December 2001

Comments: I wasn't really happy with my first version of the Jackie Chan video "Pissed Off" so I decided to try again with more cuts and edits. I was going to reuse the Limp Bizkit track but I found a better track that fitted this video more. The track titled "Superbeast" from Rob Zombie speaks for itself. It's pretty kickass and a lot of scenes I used were incredibly brutal.

If you didn't like my first attempt then this video and future versions might help me redeem myself. But this video is extremely violent due to the fact that this was one of Jackie Chan's best movies. You have been warned. =)

"High Octane" - length 4min 36sec file size: 45.1MB MPEG

Footage from: The Fast and the Furious
Music: Rob Zombie - Dragula (Hot Rod Herman Remix)
Completed: October 2001

Comments: This was a kickass track and the movie had some incredible scenes. I took all the best parts and created a pulse pounding version of my interpretation of the movie. This is one of my fave videos because I had to edit a lot of stuff and time some of the scenes with the music and everything came out great. This song is probably played out but it rocks and this is a remix so I hope it's a bit refreshing. =)

Btw, the reason the video looks grainy is because I took the footage from a mediocre DiVX version of the movie. The video also looks warped is because the original aspect ratio was 352x198 and my MPEG encoder found that size to be "illegal" so I opted for the 320x240 size. Hopefully I'll find a better version of the film and hopefully release the original aspect ratio version of this video in the future.

"Thunderhawks" - length 1min 26sec file size: 14MB MPEG

Footage from: Thundercats & Silverhawks Intro
Music: E.S. Posthumus - Pompeii
Completed: March 2002

Comments: I finally found these two nice intros. I've always loved the intros to these two cartoons. They're animated so well that it was impossible not to combine them to make a little music video. I only spent an hour on it since I was going to make a longer version with more clips from other 80's cartoons but since these two are so similar in nature that it was natural to make one with these two cartoons only. There's a lot of edits and the timing is pretty good. It wasn't easy since the intros go by so fast but I hope people like how I combined them together.

The music was actually a random tune I placed in because of the length and it worked surprisingly well. If you recognized the music, it was int he Spider-Man movie trailer. This video was just a test but I like the novelty of it. I would love to see the Thundercats and the Silverhawks fight together someday.

"Final Fantasy Squared" - length 3min 43sec file size: 30.3MB AVI

Footage from: Final Fantasy 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 (too lazy with the Roman numerals)
Music: Final Fantasy X - Crystal Theme & Final Fantasy VIII - Liberi Fatali
Completed: March 2002

Comments: Well, I finally decided to do another FF AMV. I haven't seen a lot of people use all the PSX games so I decided to try it out. This took me nearly 2 days. I spent the evenings working on it. Ripping and converting the files actually took me more time than the actual editing so I would've finished it earlier I suppose. This took alot of work and heavy editing. The only effects I used were the rubberbands for fading. Not much else. This is for all the Final Fantasy fans out there. There isn't a specific theme but I think people will figure out what I'm trying to do. I decided to do a transition (which seems weird at first) from the Crystal Theme to Liberi Fatali because I wanted to put some action into this video. I couldn't find any other tracks that I liked (yet) so this is what I came up with. Hope you all like it.

Also, I couldn't use Final Fantasy Tactics because they placed the credits all over the images so that wasn't workable. I also didn't use Final Fantasy X because I dont' know how to rip the movies off the disc and I don't have a capture card. Maybe in the future...

This is the first time I tried the DivX;-) codec and I'm really happy with it. The quality is good and the file is fairly small. I also compressed the music so if people request for the uncompressed music, I might put up a higher quality one instead. ;)

Enjoy.

"Wacky Romance" - length 3min 42sec file size: 29.5MB AVI

Footage from: Boys Be, Comic Party, Digi Charat, Fruits Basket, Hand Maid May, Love Hina, Love Hina Again, Onegai Teacher, To Heart
Music: Misa - Banzai!
Completed: April 2002

Comments: This was my first attempt at using real anime for the footage but I've had mixed results. It took me 7 exhausting days to look for footage and to put it together. The timing was really crucial and I spent a lot of time syncing it to the music. I think I should've used a much easier song because this one was real tough because of the fast beats and unusual length in the beats. Noone ever used this song so I wanted try it out.

The footage was all taken from fansubs I downloaded so I spent a HUGE amount of time looking for footage that didn't contain any subtitles in them. It was a real challenge and it limited me to even less footage then I was able to use. The only anime I took out the subs by cropping was Digi Charat. Boys Be looks warped because I cropped out the watermark by the fansubbers (yea, sue me ^^;;). Anyways, it was getting real annoying towards the end of the song. I was getting tired just looking for the parts of the videos which didn't contain subtitles and had to work with the video is some way.

The majority of the video is timed pretty well. I even made that one girl from Digi Charat say "Banzai" by changing the frames (my first lip synch attempt!) and it came out good. My fave part is during the middle fo the song in which I did those photo flashes. It was great seeing how they timed with the song so well. But I got lazy near the end and you'll see some messed up parts. Let's just say I got really sick of this song.

My first attempt and it wasn't disaster. ^_^
